This is a wonderfully restored early 1900s photo of The Mall in Armagh. To the present day The Mall remains a long stretch of grassy land where people can relax and walk. It lies at the east of Armagh's centre. During the 1700's it was used for horse-racing, cock-fighting and bull-baiting. Then in the late 18th century Archbishop Robinson decided that these events were not suited for a city of learning, and transformed it into an elegant Georgian park. The original image has been expertly repaired, restored, HD enhanced and colourised. The original print is dated possibly between 1900 and 1910.
